However, you do need it to download Kontakt Player, which is a piece of software that’s required to play many of the developer’s instruments. A download manager for NI productsįirst off, it should be noted that you don’t actually need Native Access to download all of the NI plugins. I’m not trying to imply that they are too expensive or anything, just that, for some tools you have to take a few extra steps before you can actually have them installed on your computer.Īnd one of the first steps you have to take is called Native Access. While you can expect nothing less than quality when it comes to their sound, one could argue that their plugins are a little hard to get. If you want to be safe, I suggest you create one manually before that aswell.Native Instruments is one of the most well-known developers and manufacturers of electronic music instruments, both virtual and physical. If you happen to create more issues than you solve, or accidentally delete something important, you should know that Revo creates a system restore point before performing operations. I only had to relocate, so I don't think you should have any other issues than that. You might have to log in again, relocate plugins (I had to relocate a few of them manually after the initial "relocate all"), and you might have repair plugins. Then you reboot and install again, it should work fine now. For the most part, only Native Access folders should show up, and not NI folders in general, but it doesn't hurt to make sure. Check each folder so that you only delete Native Access folders. When you're sure you've selected everything regarding Access and nothing else, hit delete on the left side, then next on the right. Be very careful and double-check before you delete! I don't think revo would uninstall parent objects even if you tried, but it doesn't hurt to untic them, so do it! If you delete the whole NI object, your plugins might suffer, and if you delete the ones over that, your computer might suffer. I didn't even delete the whole "Native Instruments"-branch, only the child object called "Native Access". There's a hierarchy with a branching structure, and you should only delete the last few child objects, not the parent objects like HKEY_CURRENT_USER or SOFTWARE. Deleting reg keys is something to avoid normally, because you can really fuck up your programs or the OS - be careful so that you only select the keys that relate to Access. Revo scannes for leftover traces of software, and does so even in the comptuters registry. Revo will first attempt to use the uninstaller that comes with the software, so I ran that, and clicked "Next". I downloaded Revo Uninstaller (The free version), selected NI Access, and "advanced" uninstall mode. I tried deleting temp folders, caches, you name it, but still Access would freeze right away as I started it up, even after reinstalling and deleting all temps etc. I tried everything to get Access to work- reinstalled, rebooted, followed NI's advice on Access Freezing / Crashing, but nothing helped. I don't think the spesific reason matters, as other errors probably can produce the same result Native Access freezing instantly when you start it. In my case, the errors where about trunctuated gzip - which according to google means that the install path is too long. So I was installing Komplete 8 Ultimate through Native Access, when some of the installs got bugged and started producing errors. Hey guys, I just wanted to share this in case someone else ends up with the same problem I've had in the future.
